*    2003 -- Basketball Without Borders Established by the NBA
*    2010 -  NBA opened corporate office in Johannesburg, South Africa
*    2017 -- NBA opened the first  NBA African Academy to identify and train young talent in Africa
*    2019 --  Announced the launch of the Basketball Africa League ( BAL)
